1. Engaging Followers

    Last week I had an awesome convo w/ @khoi over invisible burgers about life, startups, blogging, and building a following.

    Take-aways:

    1. It takes a lot of time & effort to build a following
    2. You have to enjoy it, the effort can’t be “work”

    1. Khoi’s been blogging on Subtraction.com years before Twitter came along. From the success of his blog and he then became one of Twitter’s recommended users. Fred Wilson is also someone who blogged everyday for years.

    2. One thing I hadn’t taken into account until now is how important it is to just love engaging with your followers, specifically offline. Khoi’s spent a lot of time speaking at conferences and hanging out with people, brainstorming and collaborating on ideas. To deeply engage with your followers you have to stay humble, approachable, and down-to-earth.
